馬林魚隊今作客道奇隊主場話題不斷，除了是前田健太首度對決前輩鈴木一朗外，開季表現極佳的前田健太與馬林魚隊王牌費南德茲首度交鋒也有看頭，賽後就連馬林魚隊明星二壘手迪戈登都參一腳，他被驗出使用禁藥，將面臨禁賽80場的嚴厲懲罰。

本季轉戰道奇隊的前田健太，開季表現大殺四方，前4戰拿下3勝0敗、防禦率0.36的驚人成績，今在主場先發面對馬林魚隊，不但要延續個人佳績，還要助道奇止敗，前6局只在第2局挨了陽春砲，依舊展現壓制力，卻在7局上風雲變色，加上牛棚無法化解危機，一口氣丟掉3分，終道奇以3比5苦吞4連敗，前田則吞下大聯盟第1敗。

前田此役主投6.2局被敲7安，丟4分都是自責分，飆出5K也有1次保送，防禦率升高至1.41，費南德茲雖首局就丟2分，但他隨後穩住陣腳，主投6局失2分，飆出8K也送出3保送，憑藉隊友火力反攻，拿下個人本季第2勝。

備受矚目的「前田健太vs.鈴木一朗」，鈴木一朗此役擔任先發中外野手、打6棒，2局首次登場面對前田，就揮棒落空遭三振，4局二度交鋒則敲出三壘飛球被接殺，7局三度碰面則打出游擊飛球出局，總計面對小老弟3個打數無安打。一朗去年曾在大聯盟面對另一個小老弟田中將大，當時他敲了2安。

道奇苦吞4連敗，但這還不是最糟的，明星二壘手迪戈登被驗出使用能促進表現的禁藥陽性反應，將面臨80場的禁賽，目前尚未有進一步說明。迪戈登過去3季表現精彩，總安打數406支是全大聯盟第2，三壘打22支與128次盜壘則是過去3季最多。
